Covid-19 (Corona) has hit the world incredibly hard, but how have 3rd world countries been dealing with the pandemic? The SoCoMunity team, got in contact with "We act for change" part of the Shoprite group to meet up with the VUSA foundation. Shoprite is the food sponsor for VUSA. VUSA Academy creates social upliftment for children from underprivileged communities through structured academic, sporting and extra-mural programs. Mainly Vusa is a rugby academy that has produced a Springbok Sikhumbuzo Notshe. When you see players that have come from underprivileged communities like Sikhumbuzo Notshe and Springbok Rugby Captain Siya Kolisi (the bear) its provides hope that kids can become springboks or even doctors. This Video is shot in the community center in the heart of Langa, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa. This area has long struggled with poverty, crime and gansterism. Its great to see people like Makabongwe Kahla guiding these kids. It was a cold rainy day in Cape Town and the Kids were being being fed and taught the basics of wearing a mask, coughing into Elbows and sanitising their hands, to help stop and prevent the spread of covid in township areas.
